What is Rankly?
Rankly launched publicly on September 7, 2026 as a read-only website visibility auditor built by Nyxen. It evaluates three related layers: conventional search visibility, answer-engine readiness and generative-system discoverability.
The service starts from a public URL and inspects observable website signals rather than private search-engine or AI-system internals. That makes it a diagnostic tool, not a guarantee that a page will rank or be cited.
02
What Rankly checks across SEO, AEO and GEO
- SEO: crawlability, indexability, metadata, headings, canonical signals, sitemaps and other technical search fundamentals.
- AEO: question-oriented structure, extractable answers, FAQ/schema alignment and other answer-readiness signals.
- GEO: entity clarity, self-contained claims, attribution readiness and structured context that can help machine interpretation.
These pillars are related but not interchangeable. A technically crawlable site can still have vague answers, while a well-written page can still suffer from broken canonicals, robots rules or invalid structured data.
03
How Rankly calculates its scores
Nyxen says Rankly uses 40 deterministic checks written in TypeScript. The launch documentation describes checks around HTTP responses, security headers, canonical bindings, Open Graph metadata, schema integrity, document structure and content extractability.
Google Gemini is used as an explanation and remediation layer, but Nyxen says it does not alter the underlying scores. Foundational crawl failures can cap scores so cosmetic strengths do not hide serious access problems.
04
Is Rankly free?
Rankly currently says the first public website audit is free and does not require an account or credit card. Creating a free account unlocks saved report history, additional scans and shareable report links.
The live product also documents a seven-day per-domain cooldown for public audits. Submitting the same domain inside that window can return the existing verified report instead of running a new crawl.
05
What Rankly can and cannot prove
Rankly can surface visible technical, structural and content-readiness problems. It can help diagnose crawl/index issues, unclear headings, weak answer structure, schema problems, ambiguous entities and attribution gaps.
It cannot see proprietary ranking algorithms or prompt distributions, and it does not guarantee Google rankings, AI citations, indexing dates or traffic gains. A high score means more of Rankly’s documented rules passed, not that a specific search or AI system will surface the site.
06
Rankly versus a traditional SEO suite
Rankly should not automatically be treated as a replacement for a full SEO suite. Large platforms commonly add keyword databases, backlink indexes, competitor research, rank tracking and historical datasets that are different from Rankly’s documented website-audit job.
The practical distinction is that a keyword platform can help answer what demand exists and who ranks, while Rankly is aimed at whether the public website is structurally ready to be understood across search, answer and generative systems.
07
A sensible way to use a Rankly report
- Validate foundational crawl, HTTPS, canonical, robots and sitemap findings first.
- Review titles, descriptions, headings and page structure.
- Improve important answers that are vague, buried or difficult to extract.
- Clarify entities, claims, attribution and structured data where appropriate.
- Verify every meaningful finding directly on the production site before changing code.
- Measure real outcomes separately in Search Console, analytics and referral/citation evidence.
The dedicated Rankly audit guide below walks through this workflow step by step and explains how to prioritize fixes without chasing a vanity score.
08
Bottom line
Rankly is an early attempt to bring SEO, AEO and GEO readiness into one evidence-based website audit. Its strongest editorial boundary is that deterministic checks drive the score while AI explains findings rather than inventing the grade.
Use the report as a triage system. Fix genuine access and clarity problems, then validate whether search visibility, user behavior and business outcomes actually improve.
